Les enfants terribles de la Grosse Pomme

Dear readers,

Today, I will present you an amazing New Yorker duo that I noticed during the last Fall Winter 2014 NYFW: Proenza Schouler!

This fashion company was founded in 2002 by two American designers. Jack McCollough (on the right) was born in Tokyo and grew up in the USA, New Jersey, he began his career at Marc Jacobs; concerning his associate, Lazaro Hernandez (on the left) grew up in a Cuban district at Miami and started to work as an intern for Mickael Kors (thanks to Anna Wintour, by chance, he met her during a flight!).

These two talented men met at the famous Parsons School in New York. At that time, they were already working together for their thesis. Their company has developed quickly, today Proenza Schouler is sold in significant multibrand stores and department stores: Barneys, Bergdorf Goodman, Colette...

Proenza Schouler includes womenswear, leather goods and accessories. The designs, the patterns and the cut are surprising; always at the forefront of the trends and avant-gardist at the same time. The inspirations come from everywhere, all kinds of art, cultures from Japanese traditions to urban contemporary works... Through its last fashion show, I find fresh and off-the-wall silhouettes. McCollough and Hernandez tried successfully to mix textures and prints.

Check it out!

See you! <3
